Celebrating Employee Milestones and Achievements at the Beyond Awards

Congratulations to our employees who were honoured at the British Engines Group Beyond Awards 2024, celebrating milestones and achievements.

The awards acknowledge the accomplishments of apprentices, alongside employees achieving significant milestones for 25, 35, 40 and 45 years at businesses across the British Engines Group.

During the evening, guest speaker, John Beresford MBE, shared stories from his career as a left-back with Newcastle United as part of the legendary ‘Entertainers’ team. His insights and jokes brought excitement to the evening, especially for the Newcastle United fans in attendance!

Congratulations to Ian Hiscock, HVC Operator, for 25 years and Peter Foody, Machining Centre Operative, for 40 years with the group.

The evening recognised apprentices Ellie Jardine and Chris Dos Santos for excelling in their training and college work.

Ellie, Manufacturing Apprentice, received a 1st Year Apprentice Award for her capabilities to run a complex machine at 100% proficiently, machining parts up to 4 meters in size and 10 tonne in weight.

Chris Dos Santos, Manufacturing Apprentice, received a 3rd Year Apprentice Award for his work in the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) department, his supervisor’s highlighted that he has a great attitude to improving his own skills whilst helping others.

A special recognition goes to Kacper Konarski, 3rd year Apprentice at BEL Engineering, who won the HT Lamb Award. This award recognises an engineering apprentice that has not only excelled throughout their apprenticeship, both in their academic and practical skills, but has been proactive in seeking out further development opportunities.

Kacper’s Manager, Liam McEvoy, commented: “Kacper has proactively worked to improve the efficiency of the business with his suggestions supporting younger apprentices with their ongoing training. After making the huge move towards working on multi axis machines we are excited about how his career will progress.”
