BEL Engineering is proud to hold the government-backed Cyber Essentials Plus scheme, a critical certification for working within the defence industry.
Cyber Essentials Plus is a cyber-security process and accreditation that demonstrates that an organisation can detect vulnerabilities when connecting to the internet. If a business is vulnerable to basic attacks, they may be targeted by cyber criminals.
The accreditation, which is issued yearly, gives customers and businesses peace of mind that safety measures are in place to protect their information.
To be awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus certification, a business must pass a self-assessment questionnaire to demonstrate that key controls are in place, followed by a technical audit involving a vulnerability assessment, an internal scan and an on-site assessment.
Jeremy Maclver, Head of IT Operations for the British Engines Group, said: “The importance to remain secure from a cyber-attack is essential at BEL Engineering. We test our controls and measures on a weekly basis to ensure we are protected from a cyber-attack. Without having this accreditation, the business could not work on sensitive contacts.”
